Biography of Christine Jardine

Christine Jardine is a former journalist and broadcaster, who has also been Scotland Media Adviser for the Liberal Democrats in Downing Street. During the Scottish Parliamentary elections of 2011 she stood in the Inverness and Nairn Constituency, and again in 2013 in the safe SNP seat of Aberdeen Donside, where she increased both the Liberal Democrats' actual vote and percentage share. Christine, who has one daughter and is married to fellow journalist Calum Macdonald, says her experience as a mother and businesswoman has helped inform her approach to politics in recent years. She acknowledges that the European Union and the Eurozone have been through an extremely difficult few years, but that the best future for the UK is at the heart of the EU shaping policy and influencing its development.
